Meet our February Patient of the Month!
Lola, a northern fur seal, was rescued in January, 2021 on Saltspring Island. He'd been found emaciated, with cataracts in both of his eyes. Due to his visual impairment, Fisheries and Oceans Canada deemed him non-releasable.
After just over 6 months of dedicated care, Lola was transferred to his forever home with our partners at the Vancouver Aquarium!

Zeus became the first patient of the 2025 season after being found alone on the beach in White Rock. He was estimated to be just two days old at the time of rescue.

Pierogi is the second seal pup admitted to our facility in 2025. He was rescued after being found alone and in distress, weighing just 5.9 kg
Rescued: June 6, 2025
Rescued from Alert Bay after concerned members of the public monitored him for 24 hours without seeing his mom. Currently in care at the Rescue Centre.

Lily was found tucked under a dinghy at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. Weighing just 6.7 kg and still covered in lanugo, she needed urgent care.

Barry was rescued after being monitored for an extended period without any sign of his mother. He's a vocal pup who loves to swim!
Rescued: July 8, 2025
Nelson was rescued due to maternal separation and wounds. Now healing well, he’s a curious pup who loves to sit upright and peek over the edge of his tub.
Rescued: July 15, 2025
Rescued from the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, the pup was found with its placenta still attached and struggling to stay afloat with no mother in sight.

Mr. Potato Head was found lethargic and without his mother and was admitted to the rescue centre for care.
